It’s not just students, parents, and educators who recognize the power of high-quality pre-kindergarten, both to building the foundation for learning and for leveling the playing field among student groups for kindergarten readiness. Our new video series features prominent Texans from a variety of industries and perspectives, all speaking to the importance of high-quality, full-day pre-K to Texas students, the educational and workforce pipelines, and the future economy of Texas.
Sheriff AJ Louderback is a distinguished law enforcement veteran, with more than 30 years of service. He currently serves as the Sheriff of Jackson County and also in a variety of leadership roles, including as President and Legislative Director of the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas.
Sheriff Louderback represents Texas in the national group, Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, Council for a Strong America. Through his advocacy efforts, he has attended congressional meetings in Washington D.C. and testified in committee hearings in Texas. He sees the value of pre-K in Texas and across the country. He believes we need to start kids out on a better pathway, and we do this through funding full-day pre-K: “for at-risk children, pre-K is instrumental in guiding them into a path of success.”
