Expanding pre-K through legislation and funding is at the top of many policy agendas at the Capitol these days, including ours! But pre-K can’t be understood and appreciated from research and statistics alone. You have to see it! That’s why we created the #ThisIsTexasPreK hashtag to promote Texas public school pre-K through the month of April as we advocated for pre-K policy at the Capitol. The response we got was overwhelming! Texas pre-K teachers and administrators tweeted more than 1,000 times about the amazing work pre-K students are doing in preparation for kindergarten and a strong start to their educational career.
We even recognized five of these classrooms by awarding $500 to their classroom to continue their great work. See below for the winning tweets and join us in congratulating pre-K students, teachers, and administrators for their hard work.
