Adriel Carrasco joined Raise Your Hand Texas in May 2024 as a digital communications intern, bringing valuable experience in non-profit and school communications, with a strong focus on social media and community engagement. As a first-generation college graduate, he earned his Associate of Arts in general studies from Odessa College two weeks before his high school graduation. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in public relations at Texas State University (TXST), where he is recognized as one of the Forty Faces of TXST and proudly serves as a University Ambassador.
In addition to his role at Raise Your Hand Texas, Adriel serves as a media and communications intern for Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD, where he contributes to enhancing the school district’s communication strategies. He also held the position of Student Media Assistant at the Texas State Translational Health Research Center, where he was involved in promoting and sharing health and resilience research happening at TXST, creating engaging and impactful content to support this mission. His previous role as the Membership, Advertising, and Tourism Manager for the Pecos Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB allowed him to transform the office environment and strengthen the organization’s social media presence and community relations.
Coming from a close-knit community in Far West Texas, Adriel takes pride in being a product of Texas public education. He is committed to leveraging his experiences to advocate for teachers, students, and their communities. With a passion for innovative communication strategies and an enthusiasm for creating engaging content, Adriel is eager to make a meaningful impact in educational advocacy.
