Teacher Listening circles 2024 – Raise Your Hand Texas

Ernie Moran invites you to join Raise Your Hand Texas Teacher Specialist JoLisa Hoover for a listening circle about the rise in uncertified teachers.

Why This Matters:
Across Texas, schools are increasingly relying on uncertified teachers to fill critical classroom gaps. In fact, 33% of recently hired teachers in the 2023-24 school year, lacked certification. This trend raises important questions about the challenges faced by these teachers, teacher retention, and the potential impact on our students.

About the Listening Circle:
We’re bringing together educators like you for an open and supportive discussion. This listening circle will be a space to share your experiences, voice your concerns, and explore solutions to ensure every Texas student can access a high-quality education.

Discussion Highlights:

  • Your Experience: How has the rise of uncertified teachers impacted your work and classroom?
  • Challenges & Dynamics: What challenges do uncertified teachers face, and how do they affect the school environment?
  • Student Outcomes: What are the broader implications for student learning and school culture?
  • Solutions: How can we better support uncertified teachers and address the teacher shortage?

Your Voice Matters:
As a dedicated educator, your insights are vital to this conversation. We hope you’ll join us to share your perspective and help us work towards meaningful solutions.
