Raise Your Hand Texas Names Anne Lasseigne Tiedt Senior Director of Strategic Communications

atiedt@ryht.org, (512)784-3805 AUSTIN, TX (November 12, 2021) – Raise Your Hand Texas today announced that Anne Lasseigne Tiedt, APR, an award-winning Central Texas leader in public relations and marketing, will serve as the organization’s senior director of strategic communications.

In her new role, Tiedt will advance the mission and reputation of Raise Your Hand in fulfillment of the organization’s strategic priorities across policy, advocacy, and legislative engagement.Tiedt joins Raise Your Hand after working for more than 25 years on nonprofit, higher education, healthcare, and business communication and advocacy campaigns. Most recently, she was co-owner of Momentum Public Relations, a boutique public relations and marketing firm that worked with more than 50 clients to create savvy, measurable marketing communication campaigns that helped them better themselves, their businesses, or their missions. Prior, she worked on staff leading marketing, public relations, advertising, and event marketing campaigns at The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the Austin Symphony Orchestra. She also previously led a team at a Texas-based PR Firm and owned her own PR consultancy.

“Anne has led nonprofit advocacy campaigns supporting Texas children and families, and brings the experience we need to clearly communicate our work at the capitol and across Texas,” said Dr. Michelle Smith, vice president for policy and advocacy at Raise Your Hand.

Tiedt holds a Bachelor of Journalism in Public Relations and Business Foundations Certification from The University of Texas at Austin. She has held her Accreditation in Public Relations since 2003, is a graduate of Leadership Texas 2010, and earned her PESO Model Communications Certification from Syracuse University in 2020.

She is a Past President (2008-2009) of Women Communicators of Austin, co-creator of the organization’s annual professional development conference, Get Smart, and was awarded the Leadership Award in 2021.

An active member of the Austin community, Tiedt has held volunteer positions with Ronald McDonald House, American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women, Girl Scouts of Central Texas – Troop #1744, Easter Seals of Central Texas, and Boy Scout Troop #505, among others. She has also held volunteer positions at Austin ISD’s Clayton Elementary School, Baldwin Elementary School, Gorizki Middle School, and Bowie High School.
