Amanda Phillips joined Raise Your Hand Texas in October 2023 as the social media and content manager. She brings over 10 years of experience in social media management and content creation, with a niche in emerging social platforms and community building.
Previously working as an experiential producer at the Austin American-Statesman and Austin360, Amanda helped produce live shows and large-scale events. She managed social accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers and created content that reached millions, while building and maintaining physical and virtual community spaces connecting thousands of people worldwide, including a coworking space in Austin with over 200 members.
As the proud graduate of Texas public education from rural and urban school districts, she is excited to bring her knowledge and creativity to advocate for teachers, students, and their communities.
She stays active in her local community by registering voters, hosting events, and having her experiences recorded by city councils, Spectrum News, and NPR. She is a proud 3rd generation East Austinite raising her son as the 4th generation.
