Carleigh Zips

Carleigh Zips joined Raise Your Hand Texas in September 2024 as a digital communications intern. Graduating in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in public relations from the University of Texas at Austin, she studies the cross-section between communications and public policy.

Before joining Raise Your Hand Texas, Zips was a marketing intern for the Helper Bees, an insurance-tech startup, and the student brand coordinator for a policy center at the McCombs School of Business. In these positions, she developed email and social media campaigns while learning foundational skills in graphic design and writing. Carleigh also is a marketing volunteer with the Austin Bulldog Rescue, helping dogs find their forever homes.

Through her experiences, Zips’ passion for public relations and storytelling has grown. She strives to deliver powerful messages to impact the state where she was born and raised. She saw first-hand the effect public education advocacy has on students and communities and believes every Texan deserves a high-quality education.
