Max Rombado serves as the legislative director at Raise Your Hand Texas, where he supports the development of the organization’s policy priorities, manages bill tracking, and collaborates with legislative staff on pro-public education legislation. With extensive experience in policy research and analysis, he focuses on teacher workforce, accountability & assessment, school finance, and pre-K issues. Previously, Rombado served as the organization’s policy research associate from October of 2018 through September of 2022. Rombado believes his mission is to leverage policy, research, data, and relationships to leave the world better than he found it.
Rombado holds a bachelor’s degree in government from The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a Congressman Bill Archer Fellow. During his fellowship, Rombado interned at the Brookings Institution’s Brown Center on Education Policy. Rombado recently earned his master of public affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin.
