Tobin Wood

Tobin Wood joined Raise Your Hand Texas in January 2025 as a policy fellow, where he focuses on bill tracking, legislative analysis, and supporting the organization’s policy priorities during the 89th Legislative Session. He attends the University of Texas at Austin, where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and a Bachelor of Arts in humanities.

Wood’s journey in public service began as a U.S. Senate Page in Washington, D.C., where he was nominated by Sen. John Cornyn and worked to support the senate floor proceedings in the nation’s Capitol. Upon returning home to Clear Creek ISD, he sought to give back to his school district by leading Clear Creek ISD Student Advocates, an initiative dedicated to elevating student voices in education governance. Under his leadership, he led efforts to pass a new GPA (grade point average) and class rank policy, strengthen student representation programs, and align the district’s long-term planning goals with the needs of its students. Additionally, he supported the passage of the district’s $302 million facilities bond by giving district presentations and helping inform community stakeholders.

Since enrolling at the University of Texas at Austin, Wood has interned with the U.S. Senate and worked to expand the student representation models he developed in Clear Creek ISD to other districts across Texas. Raised in a family of educators, Wood is deeply committed to advancing education policy to address the diverse needs of more than 5.5 million students across Texas.
